THIS is why you do not walk your dogs on asphalt or concrete
in the summer. If you see someone walking their dogs on

DOG PARK ALERT
We have received two notices.
(1) Nails wrapped in cheese at dog parks in Chicago and
Massachusetts (see pic). (2) from some friends that in
Augusta Maine dog park, antifreeze is being found in doggie
water bowls. Please beware and be careful and PLEASE SHARE
and spread the word
Ever wonder where puppy mill dogs come from? Here's an
example. Many get cooked alive in the sun and freeze to
death in the winter. If you purchase your dog from a pet
store, I can guarantee your "AKC" certified dog came from a
place like this. This one is even better than the ones
I saw in Iowa and Missouri!

This is a real
combination of symptoms that spells out EMERGENCY. These are the classic
symptoms of a condition referred to as "bloat" - a dog that is pacing,
restless and has unproductive attempts to vomit.
This is a common problem in large breed
deep-chested dogs but can also occur in smaller dogs.
Basically what happens is this - the
stomach twists causing the blood supply to the stomach to be compromised
then leads to tissue death. As tissues are damaged, toxins are released
and a sequence of events occurs that if left untreated, leads to death.
If you ever notice these symptoms in
your dog, call your local veterinarian or emergency clinic as soon as
possible.
This is a condition that is fairly
common and often occurs in the evening or nighttime hours. It is also a
very expensive condition to treat.

Dealing with Excessive Barking
The first step to stopping barking is to understand why it is
happening. Dogs bark for all kinds of reasons, including
anxiety, boredom and/or loneliness. Sometimes they bark just
because it feels good. Luckily, most dogs will respond to
one or other intervention to curtail their barking. Whether you
simply bring an outdoor dog inside or take the time to apply
behavior-modification techniques, you can cause a dog to be less
of a nuisance and to be more socially acceptable. |

No need for the tomato juice. Use a mixture of 10 parts hydrogen
peroxide to 1 part baking soda. Add a dash of degreasing
dishwashing soap and pour into a spray bottle. Spray liberally
over dry coat and allow to air dry. Avoid eyes. Works on other

The health and temperament of this dog is excellent to the
best of our knowledge and belief at the time of sale.
The required vaccinations and dewormings are as indicated on
the health record below, attached, or sent with the dog.
We advise the Buyer, however, to have the dog examined by a
licensed veterinarian of Buyers choice within 48 hours
after receipt of the dog. We recommend you take a
stool sample. If the veterinarian finds the dog to be
in poor health, the dog must be immediately returned to us
at the expense of Buyer for a replacement of equal value,
unless other arrangements are mutually agreed upon.
Failure to see a veterinarian within 48 hours will void all
guarantees and a copy of the Veterinarian visit sent to the
Seller.
Seller is not responsible for any vet bills occurred after
puppy/dog left Seller possession.
If this dog develops bi-lateral crippling hip dysplasia at
anytime from purchase to one year of age (confirmed by X-ray
films of the pups hips showing proper positioning, proper
identification (name and Microchip) and
meeting OFA, SV, or USA standards must be submitted to us
from a competent licensed Veterinarian). We will
replace the dog (due to crippling dysplasia) as soon as
possible with a replacement of equal value to the dog at the
time of original purchase providing the dog has not produced
a litter and has been permanently AKC registered with vom
Haus Merkel as the kennel name. We reserve the right to
request that the x-rays be sent first for review to a board
certified Veterinary Radiologist or other Veterinarian of
our choice. Should the Buyer prefer to retain the said
dog, the Buyer thereby forfeits any replacement unless other
arrangements are mutually agreed upon. This guarantee
is null and void if Penn-Hip procedure or clicking and subluxation with manipulation has been used at any time
during the life of of this dog. If buyer does not
permanently register this dog with the kennel name 'vom Haus
Merkel' and the letter of this litter as noted above, this
guarantee is null and void. A copy of the permanent
registration papers must be mailed to us to continue this
guarantee. If the puppy is returned for any reason no
replacement will be given if the puppy is not intact.
The dog should be returned to us in excellent health
(current vaccinations, heartworm check, stool sample with a
health certificate) at the expense of the
Buyer.
Signed original AKC/SV registration papers must
be sent (overnight) to us before returning the dog or the
dog will not be taken back. No
further guarantee is made.
The purchase price of $
is mutually acknowledged. Buyer represents that he/she
is buying this dog primarily as a personal or family
companion even though the dog may have show quality
structure. Buyer understands this dog is not
guaranteed for show or breeding and Buyer has no obligation
to Breeder/Seller for showing or breeding this dog (nor for
sharing stud fees or puppies resulting thereof). In
the event, buyer is unable to keep the puppy/dog for any
reason he/she agrees to notify and give Haus Merkel first
option to take the puppy/dog back. It is
considered a breach of contract to drop one of Haus Merkel
dogs to any Animal Shelter, Rescue or unsafe environments at
any time in the life of this dog. All sales are final
and down payments/deposits and/or other payments are
non-refundable.
The entire agreement between the parties is
contained herein. In the event of a dispute, Texas will
have jurisdiction over the matter in Collin County under the
laws of the State of Texas.
The
law of Texas U.S.A., without regard to its conflicts
of law provisions, will govern these Terms of Service.
By signing this contract, the buyer
acknowledges they also have been informed that growth plates of
young dogs do not properly calcify until 12 months of age.
Buyer acknowledges we will guarantee the hips to 12 months of
age, providing the buyer agrees they will not allow
environmental conditions to adversely affect the development
of the hip and elbow structure. Buyer will provide a
certified nutritionally complete food that will not promote
excessive growth or obesity. Buyer will provide
regular moderate exercise. The buyer is aware if they allow
the dog to engage in activities that would stress the hips
before the age of 10 months the hip guarantee becomes
null and void. Activities include, but limited to, exercise
on hard unyielding surfaces, continuous running, repetitive
jumping, jumping higher than their elbow, training in
competitive dog sports, or any activity that may cause
falling and injury before the age of 13 months.
I have read the above
conditions of sale. I understand and I agree to all conditions of sale
